Our Mission
Our mission is to end homelessness in the Big Bend through leadership, education, advocacy, and the provision of quality services.
Sleep Out BBHC
Sleep Out is a joint effort between three non-profits in the Tallahassee area focused on ending homelessness. They are Big Bend Homeless Coalition (BBHC), Capital City Youth Services (CCYS) & Connecting Everyone with Second Chances (CESC). All three are front line, homeless service agencies that provide emergency shelter, case management, basic needs, and supportive services to help our neighbors move into stable housing.
Our Programs
Supportive Services for Veteran Families
Supportive Services for Veterans Housing/Advocates for Veteran Housing. Rapid rehousing, prevention, and case management for Veteran households.
Home Front Veterans Community
Affordable apartments for Veterans with disabilities who have extensive histories of homelessness. A HUD-VASH project site in partnership with the Veterans Administration and the Tallahassee Housing Authority.
Home Place at Balkin
Affordable fully accessible apartments and supportive services for individuals with disabilities who have extensive histories of homelessness.
Home Plate
Housing assistance and supportive services for individuals with disabilities who have extensive histories of homelessness.
Homeless Prevention
Financial assistance to pay past-due rent and utilities to prevent households with minor children from being evicted and becoming homeless.
HOPE Community
Emergency shelter and supportive services for households with minor children.
Patrick Avenue Townhouse Apartments
Affordable apartments for low income households.
Rapid Rehousing
Utility deposits, initial rent payments, and case management for house-holds with children who are self-sufficient but lack funds to move into an apartment.
REfire Culinary
A job training and placement program for individuals with felony convictions.
