Our Mission
CCYS works to ensure family preservation, homelessness prevention, delinquency prevention, and dependency prevention. Our goal is to alleviate the immediate problems of youth during crisis situations and ultimately strengthen family relationships.
Sleep Out CCYS
Sleep Out is a joint effort between three non-profits in the Tallahassee area focused on ending homelessness. They are Big Bend Homeless Coalition (BBHC), Capital City Youth Services (CCYS) & Connecting Everyone with Second Chances (CESC). All three are front line, homeless service agencies that provide emergency shelter, case management, basic needs, and supportive services to help our neighbors move into stable housing.
Our Programs
Someplace Else Crisis Shelter
Short-term residential program and emergency shelter; 24-hour supervison. Includes counseling for youth and their families.
Family Place Counseling
Non-residential counseling and early intervention for youth and families. Family, individual, and group counseling.
Transitional Living Program
A homelike environment to help youth transition into adulthood. Provides wrap around support for chronically homeless youth. Provides services for runaway or homeless youth, and/or has an absence of parental/guardian support.
Going Places Street Outreach
Serves youth under the age of 22. Connects youth to resources and services through Drop-In Center and street-outreach. Supportive and non-judgmental support to help homeless, runaway, and at-risk youth. Supportive and non-judgmental advice and guidance with goals and problems.
Stop Now And Plan
Family focused intervention program focus on youth exhibiting anti-social or aggressive behavior. Parent and youth workshops to teach flexibility, emotional control, and problem solving skills. Weekly meetings for 13 weeks.
National Safe Place
Available to any youth who has or is thinking about running away from home. Youth can access safety and CCYS through local businesses and partner agencies displaying the Safe Place Sign. Text the word “SAFE” and Tallahassee, FL to 69866 to get immediate help and find the closest Safe Place.
